Physical description: Standing at 6' and 150lb, Pietro has the build of a runner (naturally), fit and muscular, but not overly bulky. He's naturally pale, with a European look about him. His hair is a natural silvery white and slicked back, his eyes a steely blue. He has a scar over his left eyebrow, a souvenir from his attack by humans as a youth. He walks with a certain confidence in his stride, and a rather casual air. When he wishes he can be almost entirely silent, a talent picked up from stealing in his youth. He is nearly always vibrating at a speed not easily picked up by the human eye, but this makes finding pictures of his rather difficult. It takes a very advanced camera to be able to get a clear shot of him.

*History/Personality*:

Family: Wanda Maximoff (Scarlet Witch, sister), Lorna Dane (Polaris, half sister), Magnus Lehnsherr (Magneto, father), Magda Lehnsherr(mother, deceased), Django Maximoff (adoptive father), Marya Maximoff (adoptive mother, deceased), Crystal (ex-wife), Luna Maximoff(daughter)

Upbringing/History: Pietro and Wanda were born to a young woman named Magda, delivered by a mutant cow woman named Bova high atop Mount Wugmore. The woman was quite frightened that her husband would discover her, calling him a monster, and not long after birthing the twins she disappeared into the snowny night. After several failed attempts the twins were finally placed with a gyspy couple, Django and Marya who had lost their own twins, and they raised them as their own. The twins did not know these were not their natural parents, though Pietro did often wonder why he looked so little like the rest of his family, with his shock of white hair and pale features.

They were a poor family, but a happy one, and all was well until one night the local villagers decided to take action against Django who had been stealing food. The gypsy camp was attacked and set ablaze, and Pietro, who was just on the cusp of adolescence, was able to rescue his sister with a burst of speed he had not previously known he was capable of.

The twins, assuming both their parents had been killed, wander Eastern Europe, constantly on the move, as Wanda had new discovered powers as well, hexes she was unable to control, and this drew suspicion where ever they found themselves. The day came when Wanda accidentally set fire to a house, and the villagers attacked the young mutants. Despite their best efforts, the twins were trapped, and they were only saved through the intervention of the Mutant Terrorist known as Magneto.

Feeling that they owed him a debt, they joined the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, though neither were overly comfortable as terrorists. Pietro was very vocal about his disapproval, staying only for his sister, who felt the weight of the debt much more then Pietro. Here they were given the names Quicksilver and Scarlett Witch.

Pietro and Wanda would later leave him after one of his presumed failures, joining the Avengers and making a name for themselves as heroes. Wanda met and married the android Vision, something Pietro objected until his feelings towards him were wiped from his mind. Not long after, Pietro would meet Crystal after a fight with Sentinals. The two were later married, and Pietro remained on the moon, with his wife, and new baby girl. Their marriage was rocky, with Crystal cheating on him, and Pietro often unavailable, but in continued for several years.

This would all change when Charles Xavier was killed, and Magneto's views on humanity changed. He had learned that the Maximoff twins were his children, and came to Attilan while Wanda and Vision were visiting Pietro, telling them what he had learned and insisting he was reformed. Pietro had been reluctant to believe him, but after his marriage fell apart he sought him out and found him running the school. Though there was still much tension between the two, he joined the Legacy team, taking up role as a Physical Education teacher, lacking any true education of his own.

Describe Your Character’s Personality:
Fast fast fast. Everything about Pietro is fast. He is quick to attack, quick to anger, and quick to grow bored. His eagerness to act often means he doesn't take the time to consider the consequences of his actions. He constantly needs something to keep his attention. He is highly ambitious, and rarely backs down from a challenge. He tends to rely more on street smarts then book smarts, never having had a proper education, but is privately rather fond of improving his mind.

His morals have always been rather shaky, but on the whole he has a desire to do good. He's quicker to use less conventional means of getting there however, years of playing terrorist in his youth rubbing off on him.

He is extremely protective of his twin sister, having always seen it as his responsibility to look out for her. She is his best friend, and he would do anything to keep her safe and happy. On that same line he is extremely proud of his adoptive heritage, and even after learning his father was not biologically related to him he views him as more of a parent then Magneto. He is very proud of his gypsy background and takes great offense to the assumption that because of his fair completion he is not a proper gypsy.

He has difficulty trusting others, and it takes him rather a long time to open up, or come to depend on them. He is still wary of his father, and perhaps the only people to have his fully devoted trust in this world are Wanda and Luna.

*Abilities*

Mutant Powers: In a word- speed, though it is far more then that. Pietro's body is adapted to high speed running, capable of reaching speeds up to mach 5. His cardiovascular and respiratory systems far more efficient than those of a normal human; in addition, his joints are smoother and far more efficient in order to prevent them wearing down from the stress. He metabolizes near 95% of his food intake in order to support this extreme expenditure of energy, to a normal human's 25%, using nearly every calorie. This leaves him with very little in the way of fat reserves, meaning he does not do well having missed meals.

His body does not produce the chemical which causes fatigue, instead this are released through his accelerated respiration, allowing him to require far less rest. His tendons have the strength of spring steel and his bones contain unknown materials which are far more durable than calcium, allowing him to withstand the shocks of his feet touching the ground at speeds a human could never achieve or withstand.

His reaction time, and other brain processes are many times fast than a normal human's, ensuring that he can process his surrounding while traveling at high velocities. His speed picks up the longer he runs, and he can maintain a steady speed for a minimum of several hours before needing to rest. With enough speed, he can run across water, or up the sides of buildings.

His body, or rather his whole molecular structure is constantly vibrating, something undetectable to the human eye, though it is more evident on film. He has yet to have a picture taken where he is not a touch blurry.

If you can get him off his feet you'll stand a fair shot at stopping him.. It will take him a while to build up momentum again, assuming he gets back on his feet.

Other Abilities, Special Skills, Education, etc: Somewhat skilled with theft and hand to hand combat.

*Life on Mutant Island*

What education level is your character at? None. Some home schooling as a child, he can read and write and do basic math. Otherwise he is entirely self taught. He does drop in on the occasional class at the both the university and the highschool, gleaning what he can while avoiding being noticed.

What do they do for fun? Anything and everything, but the more adrenaline the better. He gets bored fast.

Why did they choose to come to the Xavier Memorial Institute? His marriage broke up, and Pietro wished to see if his father was telling the truth about having reformed. He needed a cause to fight for again, remembering his days working for the Avengers, and he found that cause in the Legacy team.

Are they a member/applicant to the Legacy team? If not are they a student? A groundskeeper? An accountant for the university? Member of Legacy team and Physical Education teacher at XMI.

Writing Sample:

Pietro's foot tapped impatiently, and he glanced at the clock on the wall, reminding himself time had not, in fact, slowed down. Still, watching the second hand's agonizingly slow progression, he wondered (not for the first time) why he didn't invent some sort of Pietro time conversation clock so he could see time how everyone else did. He was certain it hadn't always been like this. Surely time hadn't been so slow when he was young, before his powers had manifested. His lips twisted into a small smirk at the thought, no, it had been about the same, he was always an impatient little thing, the powers just gave him an excuse.

Finally came the sign he was awaiting, a soft knock at the door, and in an instant he was at the door, pausing a moment, consciously taking the time to count to five Mississippi in his head so as not to startle the person on the other side of the door. Crystal was greeted with a quick nod, and Luna, darling girl, was swung up into Pietro’s arms immediately, hard exterior melting away now that his little girl was here.

“Hey Princess,” he said fondly, pressing a kiss to the top of her head and tucking a strand of blonde hair behind her ear, “Do you want to come in for a bit?” he asked, turning his attention back to Crystal. She shook her head, giving a small smile and passing off Luna’s weekend bag. They were still working out the awkwardness, but Pietro was simply glad the Attilans had relented and allowed his daughter to visit him here on Earth. They were short visits, her body not used to the toxins, and pollution that were unavoidable here, no matter what lengths Pietro went to to give her an environment similar to that of her home planet.

Crystal said her good byes and Pietro set Luna down. “So, what do you want to do first. Name it and it’s yours,” he said with a grin. She looked thoughtful for a moment before coming up with, ‘Tea Party?’. Pietro’s smile slipped for a fraction of a second, and he dead bolted the door, hiding his grimace as he moved to close the curtains, “’Course Princess.” If one person saw this he was going to kill them.
